Aeration
The following points were shared with us in a newsletter from IPLLA (Indiana Professional Lawn and Landscape Association) in an article written by Bob Andrews that appeared in a PLCAA Member Bulletin in August 1999. Lessons learned in '99 are still applicable today!
"Drought tends to do two primary things:
Drought weakens the turf plant, which opens up spots for germination of broadleaf weeds.
Drought-weakened lawns are also more susceptible to disease and insect damage
Drought weakened lawns often greatly benefit from core aeration in the fall. Some even will require reseeding."
